The Pioneer Farm and memorial sites sit closer to the Potomac River. You can walk down the dirt paths to explore George Washington's agricultural experiments. This area also contains the final resting places of the people who lived and worked on the 500-acre estate.

Wear comfortable shoes for the uneven pathways. A free seasonal shuttle runs from the farm area back up the hill to the main historic core.
